KNOCK YOURSELF OUT WITH THESE CHALLENGING GAMES
GAME 3: Biblical Brain Busters
THE HISTORY OF CHRISTIAN COMEDY1. In A.D. 68 the world's first stand-up comic, Henni the Young Man, was executed for misstating his most famous joke. While nervously performing for the Emperor Nero, he accidentally said, "Take my LIFE... Please!" 2. During the Middle Ages a funny monk, named Ignacius, attempted to bring levity to his monastery by designing a small leather cushion filled with air which emitted an unholy sound when compressed. When he placed it in the abbot's chair, the other monks broke their vows of silence and erupted in laughter. He was, of course, excommunicated. 3. At the height of the Revolutionary War, comedian Montague Smythe was on the front lines of the Colonists' deciding battle. As the British readied for attack, he took a flag, marched in front of the enemy and proceeded to "moon" them. While the British were disarmed with uproarious laughter, the Colonists attacked and slaughtered them. America was saved.
